Childhood Island
"Childhood Island", Bila Tserkva
Object: Artificially created island when clearing the river Ros in the 1960s. On the right bank of the flood river Ros, according to the old river, a rope channel with a length of 1 km was rolled up. At the same time, the floodplain area turned into an island connected to the land by a narrow isthmus. Total area: approximately 40 hectares. On the island there are no engineering communications, engineering structures and infrastructure.
In 2010, in order to improve water exchange in the canal, a water runway was constructed in this isthmus. To date, a rowing channel clearing project has been developed.
"Island of childhood" refers to the landscape and recreational zone of the city.
Object address: Kyiv region, Bila Tserkva. The journey to the island is carried out on the Zaluzhskaya street.
Ownership: municipal.
